Welcome to Denbighshire’s Disability Sport Development Page.

The current focuses for disability sport are:

  • To establish Disability Sport Forums/Advocacy Groups in Denbighshire for adults (21yrs +), young people (15-21yrs) and children (up to 15 yrs)
  • To establish a disability football club in partnership with Prestatyn FC and FAW Trust.  This will be for young people and adults, predominantly with learning disabilities.
  • A dragon football session for children who are visually impaired in the area in partnership with the FAW Trust will be starting on Friday 10th November 4pm-5pm.  Please contact me if you are interested in joining this club. (Initially this club will also be open to siblings)
  • Badminton Club for people with Physical Disabilities who are ambulent and wheelchair users, soon to be launched at Rhyl Leisure Centre, with fully qualified coaches and members of the welsh badminton squad.
  • Evening and weekend Taster sessions in a variety of sports for adults with disabilities

If you are interested in becoming involved with any of these programmes either as a volunteer, a coach, or a member then please contact Denbighshire's Disability Sport Officer on disabilitysport@sportdenbighshire.co.uk or by using the general contact form.
